ABSTRACT

This research addresses the challenges faced by teachers and students as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting the psychological impact associated with the sudden need to adopt digital teaching tools in everyday school life. Studies of this nature are necessary to support preventive and/or therapeutic actions aimed at coping with emerging changes. Therefore, we intended to understand the current scenario of distance education and how it interferes in the mental health of teachers and students, in such a way as to enable them to deal with this new context, which tends to remain active beyond this pandemic. We performed a survey of publications in the Web of Science and Google Scholar databases. Thus, we found and analyzed eight field studies on the topic. The main difficulties reported by research participants refer to problems related to the adaptability of computer programs, the adaptation of teaching strategies to the digital model and the need to teach, simultaneously, distance and face-to-face synchronous classes. We found reports of exhaustion, anxiety, stress and fear due to the possibility of job loss and/or exposure to the virus, besides overload of work. As a gap in the literature, we noted an absence of studies on the topic involving teachers and students of elementary and high school in Brazil and abroad. ABSTRACT

Brazil is one of the biggest movements of resistance to mandatory vaccination since the Vaccine Uprising and has experienced leadership rates in the number of deaths by COVID-19. From this perspective, this study seeks to investigate, by a bibliographic search in Information Science databases and in Brazilian laws, compulsory vaccination in the context of COVID-19. The objective is to contribute to the Brazilian discussions about compulsory vaccination in relation to COVID-19, in the scope of Information Science and its subareas. The results point that Information Science can base this type of conflict, because its sub work areas lead to rethinking the meanings that knowledge receives in society. It is concluded that clarifying and guideding the population of the efficacy and need for vaccination can be an even greater challenge than overcoming the disease itself. Therefore, educating society about the legal provisions that lead to vaccination and that dispel anti-vaccine and anti-scientific discourses is a theme to be incorporated into the scope of investigation of Information Science, mainly in areas such as Knowledge Organization, Information and Knowledge Management, Information Literacy, and Information Mediation. © 2022, Centro Nacional de Informacion de Ciencias Medicas. ABSTRACT

The economic-financial crisis resulting from the Covid 19 pandemic is far from over and has negatively influenced many sectors and activities. Social isolation implied the cancellation of trips and therefore the act of canceling airline tickets. During this period, which started in March 2020, large airlines had to resort to using third-party capital to face the severe crisis in their operations. Thus, the issue of this research was based on the investigation of the financial reality experienced at this time by airlines. The general objective was to verify whether the largest airlines were impacted by relevant effects regarding the financial crisis arising from the pandemic. The methodological proposal was developed through content analysis with a quantitative-comparative approach on financial information for the years 2019 (before the pandemic) and 2020. The results show that the companies analyzed were negatively impacted by the pandemic and that this circumstance justifies the need to seek third-party capital. As a contribution, the study validates the reality experienced by airlines in facing the crisis, promoting reflection on planning assertive actions to recover these impacts.

ABSTRACT

The present work aims to make a brief historical analysis of the surfacing concept of agroecological food, initially focused on Nutritional Food Security (SAN in Portuguese), but which encompasses other meanings nowadays, such as social, political, and playful relations. Using rice as a representative food in this article due to its constant presence in Brazilian food, connections with agroecology and its social movement are addressed and used to identify food as a political movement. We also address the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic in data for the current food industry. The methodology used in this article was the bibliographic and documentary review combined with the analysis of news, websites, and survey of databases. Our final considerations point to the need to rethink the Brazilian agricultural model and the role that small producers play in it and, above all, to the urgency of formulating public policies to encourage the production, price regulation, and distribution of food in Brazil. © Praksis 2021.

ABSTRACT

Introduction: this paper assesses the home page of the digital informational environment of the Brazilian federal government website on COVID-19 from the perspective of information architecture. It aims to contribute to effective information retrieval for the informational subjects that browse this environment. Method: a qualitative, exploratory, and applied study uses the netnography as a method for the investigation and description of the object of study. Results: we found five positive points and five negative points in the studied digital information environment. As an example of the positive points, the website presents a panel with updated news on the topic and as an example of the negative points the omission of data and a search box on the home page. Conclusions: Based on the results, a wireframe for the home page of the COVID-19 website in Brazil is proposed.
